Okay, Ben started this idea, but as he is not availible, I'm going to give it a shot. The idea of robot wars is that there are 2 diffrent factions, robots and humans. You can choose what faction to join, and other characteristics. There will be a seperate thread for each faction, and maybe a bit more. This is just the sign up thread. Most of the rest of the post is Ben in his original robot wars thread:

Now this is an example of a Controller post. The controller, who is me, is like the Dungeon Master in Dungeons and Dragons. He's like a narrator. He doesn't really do anything except say what's going on.

What do you mean the position you wish to be in? And one more thing: how crazy is this rp? I mean, are we strictly following the game rules and picking specific types of guns that don't take much resources to make and you need to find ammo and gunpowder for? Or could I get a swiss army knife that can do anything?

I'll try to stay within the game rules, but we might stray off ocasionally. You usually have enough ammo and resoucres, as those are supplied by your faction.

Basically, as I said up there, it is a war for power between robots and humans. There will be a private thread for humans, and a private thread for robots, so the other faction won't know what the first is planning and vice versa. It takes place in the far future, when humans have colonized other planets and have built robots that can then build smarter robots. The robots have the advantage of higher weaponry and quick processing, but they will be restricted as to the creativity of their actions. Humans are not restricted.

Okay, that sounds pretty awesome. I had actually had a plan like that a while ago, involving time travel. There were the time travelers and the people trying to mop up the mess they were making. But anyway, are you just going to tell us more once the RP has been begun? Here's my character. Faction: robot I look almost completely humanoid, except for artificial-looking hair and circuitry in my eyes. Characteristics: Stronger and faster than a human (I am a robot, aren't I?). I was built to be as close to humanoid as possible, so I can repair myself (with limits) and all of my weapons are not physically connected to me. Melee weapon: Staff Ranged weapon: Laser sniper. My main weapon will be the staff.
I can see one problem: Will we have enough people for a two-faction RP?
