It is a book about Operation Redwing AKA the worst special ops casualty ever.
It starts with a 4 man team of Navy SEALs attempting to assassinate Saabram, one of the al-Queda leaders. In less than 24 hours, Marcus Lutrell is the only one of that four man SEAL team.

That is because Marccuss was troop leader and the others who died weren't really the best at noticing movement. Study it.
