With a massive thundering groan and a shower of dust, the gigantic steel door of the Complex rotates shut behind you, leaving you in the dark, earthen tunnel leading to the surface. It's about a 25 mile hike to the outside, providing you don't loose your way. Your party comprises of Jenny Ukar, Dawn Summers, Brock Henderson, and Shane Davids. Though you slightly know each other from your training together, it was intensive and only lasted for a few weeks, not giving you much time to socialize. After all, it wasn't long ago that you were chosen to go retrieve supplies from the surface. The Council, head of the Complex, chose you all because they wanted a varied group. They hope that this will be a short, simple mission, after which you will be able to return to your homes and families. It is currently about 6 in the morning. You have supplies for about two weeks. Good luck!

Well We aren't going to get supplies anywhere else are we? I mean look (Gesture around me) We are in a tunnel with no where to go, no food to eat, and NO supplies!!

All of a sudden, there is a shaking in the tunnel... an earthquake!? No, worse - raiders! Before you even have a chance to react, they're swarming all around you, coming out from the walls in their tunneling machines. One of them, a large scar across his face and wearing a rag-tag suit of armor made up from bits of old car pieces, shouts, "Well, look what we have here... looks like we're finally going to have a meeting with some of the Complex citizens." A smile spreads across his face, showing rotten and missing teeth. Turning back to his band of raiders, he barks, "Alright, give'em some gas and knock'em out for a few hours and we'll take them back to the lair, and hurry up about it." You don't even have a chance to act - the gas grenades explode seconds after the command. Your heads feel heavy....
You wake up in a large prison cell that appears to be dug into the sheetrock of the cave. The only light comes from a bare bulb hanging on the ceiling. All of your weapons and supplies are missing. There are two guards outside the cell, out of reach; both are alert and watching your every move. In the corner of the cell is another prisoner; he looks like he's been here for a while.

The prison cell seems to have been carved directly into a cave of solid rock, probably using lasers or some other advanced digging tool. As far as you can tell, there's no way you'll ever be able to dig through any part of them. Besides this, you don't notice anything unusual about any part of the cell. Judging by the fact that they are slightly damp, you're guessing you're pretty far underground still.

"I'm a guy," says the prisoner, standing up. Apparently, he had been asleep. Unshaven and dressed in a set of tattered clothes, he appears to be in his mid-thirties.
"Wow. How did a bunch of kids like you have a run-in with the Raiders?" he asks, raising an eyebrow and stratching at his stubble of a beard. From his posture, it seems that he had a high standing before becoming a prisoner - possibly a politician or a marine.

" Hello! I'm Jenny, and this is Brock, Dawn, and Shane. We're from the complex. The raiders just charged us as soon as we left. How did you get here? No one has left the Complex before."

"Heh, Complex dwellers, eh? I didn't know there were any still around. There are other humans out there; some of us prefer to fight rather than hide underground. I'm a member of the US Army. I was trying to secure of stash of weapons from the robots when I was caught under fire. I was wounded, but I managed to get to safety. However, it wasn't long until these bandits found me. I've been trapped here ever since."

And I'm just narrating what happens every time a player makes an action. I'm the narrator, you see; that's my job.
Umm Jeremy when you said "I look up and see a small laser" actually Ben decides if you see the Laser or not. You could say "I look up to see if there are any lights" and then BEN would say " you see a small Laser!! Ok? *Thumbs up*

No you don't. You look up, but the ceiling is as empty as any other part of the cell, save a single bare light-bulb outside of the bars, near the guards.
"Well, nothing for it but to get comfortable," says the other prisoner. "I've looked around here for weeks; there's no way out." He settle back down in the corner, drifting back off to sleep.

Your hand hurts. Maybe that wasn't the brightest idea.
You hear a conversation from outside. Apparently, someone is entering the prison.
"The boss said to put this in the cell," says a voice.
"What? Why'd he say that? Looks like a bag of junk to me; mostly broken machine parts," says the guard.
"I dunno. Boss's orders."
"Psh. Whatever." The guard unlocks the cell. For just a moment, you think about trying to escape in the split second the door is open, but you realize that because the guard has a weapon, you wouldn't get far. A sack is tossed into the cell; it looks pretty heavy.

"I doubt that," growls the other prisoner, who apparently isn't quite as asleep as he looks. "There's no reason they'd give us our weapons, and there's no way a person would fit into that sack unless they were cut into pieces. Well, whatever it is, it's probably worthless if they're storing it in the prison cell."

The contents of the bag spill out onto the ground; from the looks of things, it's a bunch of pieces of a machine. They look like they're probably part of the same thing, not just random junk pieces, but it's so mangled and in such pieces that it's pretty much undistinguishable as it what it might have originally been. You do notice that what appears to be the central data storage unit appears to be undamaged, though it is firmly attached to the damaged chasis of the machine.
"Captain Johnathan Major, 15th infantry, ground division," says the prisoner to Dawn. "Or at least as was... I don't know what's become of my unit since I've been captured."

He frowns slightly. "Weren't you listening earlier? I was wounded in an attack by robots; I got away safely, but then I was attacked by raiders - they prey on easy targets like that. I couldn't defend myself, so I was captured and put here."

"Did what have a - wait... I think you're right; that might have been a robot at some point," says John. He starts going through the pieces, finally picking up a piece with some intact stenciling.
A-1133 is written on it in blocky letters.
"Hmm... This is an old model, alright. I think the A-11 series were humanoid; this was before the robots rebelled against the humans, so such models encouraged cooperation. Whatever the case, it's a scrap heap now."
With Jenny's computer skills and Brock's mechanic skills, however, you think you may be able to fix it....

The flash memory chip on which the machine's data is stored seems to be in fine condition. However, because it is firmly welded on to the circuit-board and you have no computer or data-analysis device on hand, you have no way to examine it's contents short of fixing the machine. In the mean time, you begin trying to get the wiring to line up correctly with the FSB. This technology is a lot different than that with which you've previously worked, but your skills are just enough to handle it. Many of the circuit boards are charred or damaged, but you manage to make due well enough that it should actually run. It probably won't work as well as it originally did, but it should at least boot up. Now Brock just has to finish repairing the chasis, and you can put it all back together.
