Let's get some Role Playing started, eh? For those of you who have never played a forum role playing game before, I'm sure you'll catch on quick. In this thread, use the template provided to create your character. In the main thread, act as your character and move through the story, interacting with other characters and the Storyteller. As the ST, I'll be controlling the world and the NPCs. Other people are welcome to start their own RP Threads as well, but you might want to play in mine for a while and get used to things. In my game, as you play you level up and gain new abilities, so playing often is worth it! Once you're playing, try and post in the Main Thread at least once a day so as not to hold up the story. If you're taking too long to post and holding up all of the other players, I'll take control of your character for that day to move things along. If you go several weeks without acting, then baaaad things will happen to your character. Anyway, let's start!

Future Imperfect
The year is 2083. In 2024, through the flaws of the US Governmental system, a robot was elected president. Through abuse of his power, Robama managed to take over the United States, turning it into a robot utopia. Humans were hunted down and killed. Many stood against the robot menace, but none prevailed. The only survivors were those who hid in a network of underground tunnels, known as The Complex. Located just outside New York, it housed thousand people in Wards of two thousand each. Those inside thought to wait out until a peaceful solution was found. However, all these years later, it is still unsafe to go out. But when The Complex begins to run out of food, their options begin to run out. The Complex Council decides to send a group comprised of one person from each Ward to go out into the ravaged world, to the city of New York, where the will be able to find supplies to bring back. They will have to brave the dangers of the outside world: twisted cyborgs, mutants, psycho maniacs (for some reason, they tend to stick around even when most of man-kind has died off,) and of course, human-hating robots. Each player will be the hero from his or her Ward.

Gun Choice: (Shotgun, sniper, assault rifles, pistol, or large weapons. Your choice determines your main proficiency, meaning the weapon you have been trained with and begin with, although you may of course use any type of weapon. "Large weapons" means grenade launchers, rocket launchers, mini-guns, etc., which are powerful but heavy and difficult to come across. All characters start with a standard hand-gun as well. The pistol proficiency includes magnums. If you'd like a type not on my list, it's probably acceptable, just PM me or post about it. I don't know much about guns, so if anyone wants to expand the list, that's fine.)
Melee Weapon: (Knife, blunt weapons, large bladed weapons, or fists. "Fists" consists of unarmed combat as well as weapons meant to enhance it (brass knuckles, etc.) Everything that applies with guns applies here as well.)
Ability: (Due to the toxic chemicals that have been released by the robots, there is a lot of mutagen in the air. Most of it has been avoided by those in The Complex, but some have gained abilities from it. Choose anything within reason, and I'll tell if you it's alright. It probably will be, unless it's game-breakingly powerful.)

Non-Combat Abilities:
(These help flesh your your character's personality a little, and should enhance role-playing, giving you an alternative to fighting if you so desire. You have five points to distribute. You do NOT gain non-combat ability points on level up, so choose wisely.)
Medicine (First Aid ability, using herbs, pills and drugs, etc.)
Computer Skills (Hacking, basically; this includes robots, but only an extent, as most have protection against this kind of thing.)
Stealth (Sneaking, stealing, pick-pocketing, etc.)
Speech (Diplomacy, persuasiveness)
Mechanics (Repair of guns and armor, and physical non-computer machinery.)

Once we get at least one but preferably two or three players, we can begin. Others can join later, though; some people who were not in the Complex have survived, and they are welcome to join the party. If there are any questions, feel free to ask.
